residential development
Rummey Design is a significant designer in the UK residential sector where housing pressure has become a major political issue. We have a range of projects at different stages. We are currently working on, or have influenced the design of, up to 14,000 units at Allocation, Consent or Detailed design stage.
the housing market
Housing providers in the UK operate in various markets regionally, socially and economically. These markets are changing but there is a continuing need to create developments which are 'places', with their own entity. This approach helps with Allocations and planning Consents, marketing and also with sales. It underpins our approach to residential design at all scales.
We rigorously apply this methodology at all stages of a project, from gaining planning Permissions to Public Inquiry if necessary, and to detailed applications.
a strategic approach
We think strategically about residential design. The essential 'sense of place' comes from working with the site, its physical qualities, drawbacks and its history. In that sense it is 'landscape-led' and has enabled many important developments recently.
Our strategic approach is central to major developers' needs in maintaining the 'pipeline' of planning Consents.
